Episode 8 – “Forest for the Trees”

Written by Jill Donnellan and Seth Walther
Japanese episode written by Yasuko Kobayashi
Additional material directed by Akihiro Noguchi and Koichi Sakamoto
Directed by Jonathan Brough

Summary: Ji and Jayden explain that with the three recovered Disks – Beetle, Swordfish and Tiger, they can combine the three Zords to form the Samurai Battlewing. The three Disks are assigned – Jayden keeps the Tiger Disk, the Swordfish Disk goes to Kevin, and Ji gives the Beetle Disk to Mia. Mike is unhappy that they didn’t pick him, so Mike trains even harder. Ji explains that Mike still needs to learn to listen before he’s ready.

A Nighlok summons rain upon humans, causing loss of hope. Pink Ranger tries to attach the Beetle Disk onto her Sky Fan, but the Nighlok blasts it away. Green Ranger catches the Beetle Disk, but instead of giving it back, he attaches it to his Forest Spear, but the Forest Spear doesn’t work and the Nighlok gets away.

Ji takes Mike’s Samuraizer away, and Mike returns to the arcade. Ji locates Mike and takes him for a ride.

Octoroo feels that they may have overlooked something important about Deker.

Ji helps Mike with harnessing the Forest Symbol and gives his Samuraizer back. Green Ranger destroys the Nighlok, but the Nighlok returns giant. Pink gives Green the Beetle Disk, and Red, Blue and Green form the Samurai Battlewing and destroy the Nighlok.
